A video of the lecture on parliamentary reform, given by the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, at the University of Hull last month – one of the lectures given to mark the 50th anniversary of the Politics Department at Hull – is now available on the Department’s website.  You can access it here: just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the picture.

    Lord Norton,

    Quite a good lecture from the shortest living and serving Speaker perhaps in your history. Relevance of Parliamentmay be tied it seems to me to large issues of communal ties. It seems to me however that reform of each institution in society is probably the best approach to addressing those large and broader issues which have folks bowling alone…
