Busy day. It is just coming up to midnight. We have just had the tenth (and final) vote of the evening on amendments on Third Reading (we can take amendments at this stage in the Lords) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill. The Government lost two of the votes, one was tied (which meant the amendment was not carried) and the Government won the rest. After voting in this last division, I was heading back to my room when a minister ran past, mobile ‘phone to his ear, desperately trying to get to the lobby before the eight minutes was up.
The House is still sitting and is now on the Water Industry (Financial Assistance) Bill…
I havev not seen Earl Ferrers in the chamber for a while, I know his wife suffers from ill health but is his own health in good order?
Tory Boy: Earl Ferrers I believe is not in the best of health at the moment, hence his absence from the chamber.
