In yesterday’s Daily Mail, Richard Kay noted that Lord Heseltine has yet to make his maiden speech in the Lords, adding:
“Perhaps he should take notes from his Conservative colleague Baroness Morris of Bolton, Deputy Leader of the House and the first woman to sit on the woolsack in the Lords, whose relish for the role is infectious. ”
Very good. Apart from the fact that Baroness Morris is not Deputy Leader of the House. And she is not the first woman to sit on the woolsack.
