The celebratory gathering

Here is a picture taken at last Friday’s reception to mark my thirty-five years in the Politics Department at Hull.   I am surrounded by a fine body of students – British Politics and Legislative Studies (BPLS) finalists.

It was a very jolly occasion.  As regular readers may have noticed, I am not averse to marking anniversaries.  Next year, it will be fifteen years since I joined the Lords and the year after it will be twenty years since the founding of The Journal of Legislative Studies.  I will think of something for 2015….

A reception on the Lords part of the Terrace in 2015 perhaps? Former BPLS and WHIP students certainly have experience with them . . . . .

Congratulations. I think you have achieved quite a bit that is worth remembering…
