Hugh Grant meets Hull’s finest

67356_545340902172705_1005943546_nSome members of the Hull mafia recently met the actor Hugh Grant.  The picture shows (from left to right): Rebekah Kendrick (BPLS student), Joseph Griffiths (LLS student), Khobi Vallis, Laura Allen (both BPLS graduates), Hugh Grant, Catherine Broadhead and Daisy Baldwin (both BPLS students).  ‘Amazing’, ‘I’m in awe’, ‘a day I’ll never forget’ are just some of the comments from Hugh Grant.

For the avoidance of doubt, I made that last bit up.

My understanding is that he only agreed to pose on the condition that they introduce him to Lord Norton.

  2. ladytizzy says:

    Humph.

  3. Quite the “Notting Hill” experience for him I am sure…
On a more serious note I am sure they are very compelling and interesting young people and it does make one wonder who he came mostly to see. Lloyd Weber, Fellowes, Bonham Carter and others whom I have yet to see in the few clips I have watched of your Honorable House. fit into all sorts of exotic and fantastical coincidences in my uninformed mind…

    • Dean B says:

      Notting Hull?

    • Jonathan says:

You do realise that Baroness Bonham-Carter of Yarnbury is not the same person as the actress who appeared in The King’s Speech? I believe they are some sort of cousins, and of course are both descendants of Prime Minister HH Asquith.

      • maude elwes says:

That is not important for it’s all in the family, once again!

And from my point of view, Helena Bonham Carter, should not have been caste as Queen Morher in The Kings Speech. The person who looks almost identical to her is Jennifer Ehle. And she is a far better actress. She must have been miffed as they handed her a bit part, not appreciating her genuine ability. One would have thought Firth would have pointed that out.

Besides, H Bonham Carter looks as mad as a hatter. The Queen Mother did not have that crazed manner.

      • Lord Norton says:

maude elwes: I think that’s one for Hugh Grant.

  4. maude elwes says:

    Lord Norton:

Grant was, Four Weddings, Firth, The Kings Speech.

    And

    Both terrific movies.
