Merry Christmas

Christmas treeI trust all readers had a Merry Christmas.  I did think about doing a post on Christmas Day, but then I decided that writing about the Draft Deregulation Bill may not appear that festive.  I may shortly do a review of the year.  As for looking ahead, I am already at work on a lecture.  I am giving the first in the 2014 series of Speaker’s Lectures.  The theme of the new series is Parliament, Issues and Institutions.  I shall be speaking on ‘Parliament and Political Parties’.

I wish all readers a happy and peaceful 2014, though I may do some posts before the New Year is upon us…

To the tune of “The Holly and the Ivy”
“Draft deregulation, reduction of the House,
Amid the winter and the bells, Norton would announce,
The Green seats of the Commons, Red of the Lords,
witness working holidays and rest in vacant boards.
Christmas in the LOTB and on The Norton View
means bloggers take a little break for Christmassing too.”
