Coming up Trumps

26669_jpgThe autobiography of Baroness Trumpington – Coming Up Trumps – is, I gather, proving a best-seller.   She has, characteristically, said that she did not write it and has not read it, but those who know her recognise the words as being hers.  It is a highly readable work.  Although not heavily focused on her parliamentary career, she empathises her love for the House of Lords.

Given that there are various readers who I know are great fans of hers, a copy of the book will be the prize in the next caption competition….

She did write it in conjunction with a ghost writer and those are all her words. She did not read it because of her eyesight but I read every word to her! The journalist just took the quote out of context! Regards Her Son.

    • Lord Norton says:

Adam Barker: I was discussing with colleagues the fact they were clearly all her own words – we could just see her saying them, which makes it all the more readable. I think we recognised what she meant in what she said to the journalist – I think there was the suspicion that she may be being characteristically mischievous! Some wonderful family anecdotes…

    “…the various readers…great fans…copy of [her] (‘best-seller’) book…prize…”

Baroness Trumpington, the thinking person’s Miley Cyrus.

I almost posted on another thread a while back noting how remiss you’d been in not mentioning Lady Trumpington’s book. I heard the book reviewed very favourably on the radio recently

I have read the book and it’s a jolly good read. I am waiting to get my book signed by the great lady!!!
